Bappi Lahiri, a veteran singer-composer, shared his condition on social media on Sunday night. The 68-year-old artist said in a post on Instagram, writing that he is “doing well” in terms of his health. In a statement, the musician said it was “disheartening” to see “false reports” about his health.
“Disheartening to learn about certain media outlets putting out false reports about me and my health,” he added. “With the blessings of my fans and well wishers, I am doing well – Bappida,” he signed off the statement, stressing that he is doing fine.
“False reporting,” Bappi Lahiri said alongside his statement in his post. Shaan, the musician, commented in the comments section of his post: “It’s really sickening.#falsereporting … Don’t know what they gain from this… Just creating panic and confusion.”
Veteran music composer Bappi Lahiri was taken to Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital in April as he was diagnosed with COVID-19. He, however, recovered from the Covid infection after a few days, NDTV reports.
Bappi Lahiri is most recognized for her roles in the late 1970s and early 1980s films Chalte Chalte, Disco Dancer, and Sharaabi, to mention a few. His most recent Bollywood single, Bhankas, was released in 2020 for the film Baaghi 3 starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor.
